What is the ShieldLabs bot directory?

The ShieldLabs bot directory lists the AI bots, browser platforms and crawlers recognized by ShieldLabs Bot Detection. Each category shows its detection flag and the provider name returned when available. Read ShieldLabs bot detection for how to integrate detection and use the results.

Read the detection category

ShieldLabs uses three detections for recognized bot traffic: All three belong to the dashboard’s Good bot group and have a Risk Score of 0. Read assistant identity assessments and browser verification.

AI bots and assistants

These detections include AI content crawlers and assistants that retrieve pages for a user request. Read AI assistant detection for fields and examples.

AI browser platforms

The AI browser signal requires successful identity verification for the observed platform. Read AI agent detection for the signature and attribution model.

Search bots and crawlers

The following clients can appear under Search bot. This is the ShieldLabs detection category: it also includes supported content and indexing crawlers whose purposes extend beyond search. Unknown means the provider is not supplied for that detection. It does not mean the crawler was not recognized. Provider fields can be omitted; the dashboard displays Unknown when the name is unavailable. Read the identity metadata for the verification evidence available on an individual identification.

The scored webhook returns the active flag inside data.detection_flags. The corresponding data.search_bot_owner, data.ai_bot_owner or data.ai_browser_owner is included when its provider name is known. Optional data.client_identity adds recognized names and verification evidence. See the scored webhook reference for the complete response. In Analytics, open an identification to inspect its bot signal and provider. The Overview’s Good bots group combines recognized AI bots, AI browsers and search bots. A request must reach your ShieldLabs integration to appear in these views.
